April, age 42, shared her experience making lifestyle changes while working with licensed healthcare providers to support her personal wellness goals.
The following reflects one individual's personal experience. Individual experiences and outcomes vary.
Balancing work, family and everyday responsibilities often meant I spent more time taking care of everyone else than taking care of myself.
I'm 42 years old, have two children, two dogs, a husband and lead a business that operates around the clock. Finding time to focus on my own health wasn't always easy.
Over the years, I tried different approaches to improve my overall wellness. I stayed active, exercised regularly and learned a great deal about nutrition, but I often found it difficult to stay consistent while balancing a busy schedule.
Eventually, I decided it was time to develop a plan that I could realistically maintain over the long term with guidance from licensed healthcare providers.
One of the biggest changes for me wasn't following a perfect routine—it was becoming more consistent with the healthy habits I had already wanted to build.
My routine now includes:
I also learned that healthy routines don't have to be complicated. Making small, consistent choices each day has been much easier to maintain than trying to make dramatic changes all at once.
While every day looks a little different, my routine often includes:
Morning
Midday
Afternoon
Evening
Rather than striving for perfection, I've focused on building habits that fit into my lifestyle.
One lesson I've learned is that progress isn't defined by a single number.
For me, staying active, making healthier food choices and creating routines I can maintain have become just as meaningful as any changes I notice over time.
I also appreciate feeling more in control of my daily habits and making time for my own well-being despite a busy schedule.
My wellness journey is still ongoing.
I've learned that lasting lifestyle changes take patience, consistency and a willingness to adjust along the way. Rather than focusing only on the destination, I'm learning to appreciate the progress I'm making one step at a time.
